Pierpaolo, aka yrz, got involved in a number of opensource projects,among them mod_protection, jabber SMS and Nomachine NX. He refined his taste for investigation at ENS Lyon/INRIA RESO team, then he spent some years as a researcher for Hitachi Europe, VUA and University of Patras working on transport protocols, virtualisation, autonomic networks and control theory. Nowadays he lives near Venice juggling between his entrepreneurial and research leanings. He's part of the Internet of Things Architecture (IoT-A) project
