Florence Devouard

founding member and vice-chair , Wikimedia France ( France)

Florence Devouard

Independent consultant and speaker on issues related to knowledge management, collaboration tools and online communities dynamics.
Florence holds an engineering degree in agronomy from ENSAIA. She also holds a DEA in genetics and biotechnologies from INPL and was later trained as a webmaster (2000).
She started her career as a researcher in the public sector (CNRS), then moved to the private sector to design computer-based decision-making tools in sustainable agriculture (till 2006)
Former Chair (2006-2008) of Wikimedia Foundation (the non profit organization operating Wikipedia), founding member of Wikimedia France and currently its vice-chair,
Florence discovered Wikipedia and joined its community early 2002. In 2008, she was made a knight in the French National Order of Merit.
She is also the co-author of the book ""Wikipedia: découvrir, utiliser, contribuer"" published in January 2009 as well as other books and articles and has participated to numerous conferences, seminars and workshops about Wikis and Wikipedia.
