Interoperability: beyond advocacy
Interoperability is nowadays a mainstream idea, that you'll find in most vendors advertisements and that is part of most CIO's daily work ; advocating it could seem rather pointless. But even-though the word is now nearly universally used, the meaning attached to it might vary widely, and it's not rare that customers eventually don't get the benefits they were expecting from it. This presentation will cover the problems related to the various definitions of interoperability and will underline the consequences of each one, what they require at standardisation level and what benefits they might bring to an end user.!
