Adrian Colyer is the Chief Technology Officer of SpringSource, a division of VMware. SpringSource is leading or active in a wide range of open source projects including the Spring Framework and related Spring projects, Groovy, Grails, RabbitMQ, and a number of Apache and Eclipse projects including Tomcat, Virgo, Gemini, AspectJ, and AJDT. Adrian is a key member of the SpringSource team setting strategy and direction for VMware's Cloud Application Platform - which combines the Spring programming model and core runtimes with the vFabric platform services for applications, messaging, and data.
Adrian has a long-standing interest in software design and modularity. He led the AspectJ project at Eclipse.org, and founded the AJDT and Spring Dynamic Modules projects. In 2004 Adrian was recognised by MIT Technology Review as one of the Top 100 "young innovators" in the world. Adrian has also served on a number of industry groups including the Aspect-Oriented Software Association Steering Committee, the OSGi Enterprise Expert Group, and the Eclipse Architecture Council.
