Francis Pisani, is a French independent journalist, besides awriter, documentary maker, teacher, consultant and speaker. Having been working for a long time in Mexico, he settled in 1996 in California, where he wrote particularly on the information and communication technologies. He was interested in their influence on the social and cultural networks’ functioning.
Francis Pisani owns a diploma from the Institute of Political Studies at the university of Paris in 1966, and he obtained a master's degree in public law in 1964. In 2000, he obtained a doctorate of Latin American studies in political sciences, at the New Sorbonne Paris III.
His first journalistic experience was in 1968 for AFP in Saigon during the Tet offensive, and in Prague during the Soviet intervention.
During his career, he was journalist and regional correspondent for the Latin America for a large number of publications. He also collaborates for radios.
In 1999 and 2000, he was reader at the university of California (Berkeley). In 2003, he taught journalism and Internet at the university Stanford. He taught the same themes in 2004 at the university of California (Berkeley).
Heintervenes as speaker and consultant on the themes of the social impact of the new information and communication technologies .
