Born in Wageningen( 1953), the eastern part of the Netherlands, as eldest daughter in a large family of 6 children, she knows how to plead a cause. Ineke has succesfully finished her law studies at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. She has broad experience in the area of government, especially in municipalities(16 years in policy development and management)and as a programme manager in ICTU( 7 years) on a broad variety of subjects, including information management.. At ICTU she started in 2003 as programme manager of EGEM, which is the platform for process development for and by means of municipal authorities. Among other things the programme aims at standardisation, coöperation and dissemination of 'best practices'. EGEM supported municipalities to improve performance with the help of ICT, especially by means of standardisation. EGEM is accomplished bij ICTU by order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Royal Relationships and the Confederation of Municipalities (VNG) and lasted until 2010 to be continued in KING.June 2008 Ineke was asked to become the programme manager NOiV ( the Netherlands Open in Connection). An actionplan of the Dutch Government by this name( url) is the base of the programme. The programme is instructed and sponsored bij Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Internal affairs and Royal Relationships. She is responsible for encouraging the Dutch central and decentral governmental bodies, the sectors public health care and educational organisation to think and act interoperable through the use of open standards (OS) and if possible open source software (OSS).To disseminate this goal she has contributed to many international congresses to exchange kwowledge in the field of Open Standards and Open Source Software. At WCIT , held this year on may 25th in Amsterdam, Ineke emphasis the difficulty of reaching various focus groups. “In the Netherlands we will add a 'market place' in which reuse of open source software will be the main sgoal. In addition NOiV works with a wiki to exchange knowledge in the field of OSOSS. The english version is a new goal for the coming year.”
