Nazare Bretas is director of the department of information systems integration of the secretary of logistics and information technology from the Ministry of Planning in Brazil since 2003, where coordinates e-government initiatives related to interoperability, green IT, free and public software and ICT governance. Also participates in structuring IT projects as national infrastructure of spatial data, civil identification.

Previously, had worked for about 20 years at public local IT institution and 10 years with software projects at the mining and steelworks companies.

She is an engineer who has a master degree in public administration and serves as visiting professor in government schools in the country.
