A computer industry insider of 18 years standing, Roberto Galoppini has worked in such hands-on roles as programmer and systems analyst as well as being founder of an Open Source firm in 2001, and founder of one of the first open source consortium in 2004. From 2005 he helps companies from all over the world to design and implement their open source strategies, both at a business level and at a technical level, including creating or joining communities. He takes an active interest in several free/open source software organisations, and serves on some advisory boards. He writes almost daily about open source business at his commercial open source blog, and is the author of SOS Open Source, an automated methodology to qualify and select open source software.
