Rory MacDonald

Rory MacDonald is a media and communications strategist at open source technology specialists InitMarketing. Over the past twelve years he has worked in a variety of roles within marketing, communications and journalism in both the UK and Germany.

As a consultant focused on tech start-ups and disruptive technologies, Rory’s drive for building new markets is evidenced by a string of client companies that have become the target of lucrative takeovers.

Having first encountered GNU/Linux whilst working at SAP AG in the late 1990’s, Rory has continued to work with open source software users, developers, vendors and projects for over a decade. During this period clients have included: Acrylis, Drupal, MagnoliaCMS, OTRS and Typo3.

In addition to his consulting roles, Rory has contributed to IDG Techworld and now works as the news editor and an occasional features writer on Linux User and Developer Magazine.
