Stéphane Dalmas earned a PhD in Computer Science and works at INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique), the leading French research institute in IT. After spending ten years investigating various problems in symbolic computation (programming languages, user interface, code generation, deductive formula databases, representation of mathematical objects, automatic differentiation), he joined the technology transfer and industrial partnership team. As INRIA considers FLOSS as another powerful means to transfer its research results to the industry and society, he became involved in the CeCILL effort, coordinating the work on the second version of the license and on CeCILL-B and CeCILL-C to produce the first coherent family of FLOSS licenses with a high legal quality. Stéphane is the leader of the "Legal Issues" activity of the QualiPSo European project on the quality of Open Source.
