Mark Bapst is vice president of technology for Qualcomm Innovation Center (QuIC) where he is responsible for leading the web technology team in their effort to enhance the user experience for mobile Internet browsing and web applications by optimizing open source web related technologies such as Webkit and V8. He joined Qualcomm as part of the acquisition of AMD/ATI’s handheld division, where he served as division chief technology officer. Bapst holds several patents in various semiconductor and systems areas and was awarded “Invention of the Year” in embedded computing by EDN Magazine. He earned a master’s in computer engineering from the University of Central Florida, where he completed GE’s advanced course in engineering program. Bapst also holds a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from the University of Florida.
